As of December 2019, Daily Deviant will be active solely on DreamWidth. The community began on LiveJournal in March 2006, then moved to InsaneJournal in 2007 after the events of Strikethrough. Although we are moving again, Daily Deviant on InsaneJournal will not be deleted and will continue to exist as an archive of thirteen and a half years of our fandom history.
Membership is open only to users who are invited posting members of Daily Deviant. Everyone else can follow the kinky fics and art by becoming a watcher (i.e. subscribing to Daily Deviant and adding it to your reading page). Nothing here will be locked, so there's no need to join to see the content.

What is Daily Deviant?
Daily Deviant is an invitation-only Harry Potter community that has been operating continuously since March 2006. We use fanfiction and fanart as a means of exploring a diverse array of sexual themes and concepts. And conversely, we use sexual themes and concepts to explore aspects of characterization and dynamics within the HP universe. Members post on specific assigned dates in order to spread out their works through the month, every month, all year 'round.
The fandom demands pr0n and we're going to deliver it!
Each month has pre-determined themes as well as an alternate pairing from which the artists and authors can choose. The themes are usually generated randomly from a list of about 3,500 sexual practices, so expect to learn a few strange, new words ending in -philia. Occasionally there are special theme months decided by the mods, as well as our annual holiday event, Kinky Kristmas. Nothing is sacred, no theme is too taboo!
Fair Warning: You should expect a wide range of smutty stories and erotic art at Daily Deviant. Slash, femmeslash, het, threesomes, foursomes, moresomes, solo sex, and cross-species encounters all appear regularly here. If you can name it (and probably even if you can't), we're going to write and draw it. This is not a squick community, but at the same time, one of our themes will almost certainly squick or offend you sooner or later. We warn for content in both our headers and our tags; it's up to you to read responsibly. Who can join?
This is an invitation-only community to ensure quality, consistency, and the right amount of pr0n. We realize, though, that it's impossible for us to read/view and find every talented author/artist in the fandom, so we're not opposed to individuals requesting to be considered for membership. However, if you choose to do so, please be at least 18 years of age, have some very NC-17 work to show us, and be able to handle a rejection calmly.
Final notes and disclaimers:
We know we are venturing into topics that can be offensive to some, but flaming will not be tolerated and will get you banned faster than you can say "bestiality". Once again, we warn clearly for content. You are responsible for your own reading and viewing habits. If you don't like the subject matter, just keep scrolling.
Our username was coined for alliteration. We do not use the word "deviant" as a judgement of any of the sexual practices explored here. We also frequently use the word "kink". This too is neither a judgement nor a dismissal of any sexual practice. We equate this word with "theme."
